Kendra Haste RBS

About:

An MA graduate from the Royal College of Art, London, Kendra is a renowned contemporary animal sculptor working with the medium of galvanised wire. She has established a significant reputation in her field and is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors, the Society of Wildlife Artists (UK) and a signature member of the Society of Animal Artists (USA).

'What interests me most about studying animals is identifying the spirit and character of the individual creatures. I try to create a sense of the living, breathing subject in a static 3-D form, attempting to convey the emotional essence without indulging in the sentimental or anthropomorphic.'

In 2010 she was commissioned by Historic Royal Palaces to make thriteen sculptures for the Tower of London as part of an exhibition 'Royal Beasts' which tells the story of the Royal Menagerie. The project was delivered in late 2011 and the sculptures will remain in-situ until 2023.

Kendra's work can be found in private and public collections world-wide, including:
National Museum of Wildlife Art, Wyoming
Tower of London
Cannon Hall Museum, Barnsley

In 2016, her work was exhibited in Asia for the first time at the Chinei Museum, Tainan, Taiwan and 'Bison Head' (2016) was purchased by the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Wyoming.
